Riley was Buffy’s boyfriend during her first year at college and for some time after. He is a very intelligent individual who was selected by the US army for special operations in the Initiative. He is the model soldier and student. Studies hard, always puts himself in danger for the right cause. He teamed up with Buffy on several occasions to fight demons. He eventually left Buffy to go back to the Army.
